Reading Food Labels

First, look at the serving size to determine how much you can eat.  Many times the serving is not what you would expect a serving to be.

Are the calories worth spending for this particular food?

For every 100 calories, the food should have 3 grams of fat or less.

The saturated fat (artery clogging) should be no more than 1/3 of the total fat.

Sugar should be no more than 1/3 of the total carbohydrates.

Look for foods that are high in vitamins and minerals - Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron
